Soft & fluffy. No chill. My husband’s favorite.
3 c. All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Almond or Coconut Extract (optional)
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 c. White Sugar
1 c. Butter (2 sticks)
1- Preheat oven to 350 F.
2- Soften butter and add sugar. Mix until creamy.
3- Beat in extracts and egg.
4- Gradually add baking powder and flour to wet ingredients.
5- Dough will be stiff. Turn dough out onto a floured surface.
6- Roll and cut. (The only cookie cutters I own are Christmas themed, so I improvised)
7- Cook for 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
1 c. Powdered Sugar
4 tsp. Milk
Add a little food coloring if you want!
1- Stir in bowl.
2- Let cookies cool and then spread or dribble icing over cookies.
This icing recipe makes the perfect homemade icing. Not too runny, not too stiff!
This recipe makes a great, not too sweet sugar cookie and you don’t have to chill the dough in advance! This recipe makes a lot of cookies too, so I love to use it for holidays. I can section off the dough, and everyone gets their own ball to roll, cut and decorate. Kids love it. The husband loves it. Try it!
